Who we are
This website, www.diwaliinlondon.com, is run by the Diwali in London (DiL) committee, the volunteer committee that delivers Diwali on the Square in partnership with the Mayor of London. In this policy, "we" and "us" means the Diwali in London committee.
What information we collect
- Contact and enquiry forms: your name, email address, phone number and message.
- Media and creator accreditation: your name, outlet, role, mobile number and any press card or credentials you send us.
- Volunteer registration: your contact details, emergency contact and the details you give us about volunteering.
- Website use: cookies and Google Analytics tell us how the site is used, such as the pages visited and the type of device. The chat widget keeps the messages you send through it.
How we use it
We use your information only to reply to you, to organise Diwali on the Square (including media accreditation, volunteering and site access) and to improve this website. We rely on your consent when you send us your details, and on our legitimate interest in running a safe, well-organised event.
Who we share it with
For accreditation and volunteering, we share the details needed for site access with the event organisers: the Greater London Authority and its event production company. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing without your permission.
How long we keep it
Accreditation and volunteer details, including press cards, are deleted within three months of the event. Enquiries are kept for up to 12 months. Analytics data is kept in line with our Google Analytics settings.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent, by emailing info@diwaliinlondon.com. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
You can turn off cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work properly without them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
