The Ghoomar Dance was performed on the Square on 28th October 2018

Our festivities begin with a journey into elegance and opulence that manifest in the Majestic Ghoomar Dance performance, for all to view. Ghoomar, which is a traditional graceful and colourful women's folk dance of Rajasthan, India, was developed by the Bhil tribe to worship Goddess Saraswati and was adopted by the Rajput’s. It was ranked 4th in the list of "Top 10 local dances around the world" in 2013.

According to traditional rituals, a newly married bride is expected to dance Ghoomar on being welcomed to her new marital home, and nowadays the dance is performed on many special occasions, such as at weddings, festivals and religious occasions.
