On Sunday 19th October, Diwali on the Square takes place for the seventh year on Trafalgar Square. This joyous event is organised by the Greater London Authority in association with the Diwali in London Committee and regularly attracts audiences of
25 000 people or more to one of the capital’s most iconic locations.
The Diwali in London Committee is a voluntary group with representatives from Hindu, Sikh and Jain organisations in London and works to facilitate and promote the event each year in Trafalgar Square.
The event is an expression of the commitment towards creating a better world to live in and is an opportunity for different communities to join hands and share in the values and meaning of Diwali. Everyone, young and old is welcome at Trafalgar Square on Sunday 19th October from 3pm onwards, to enjoy free performances of music and dance and to be inspired by the magic of the ‘festival of lights’. |
